Jonathan Grissom

Partner, Chair of Nonprofit Organizations Practice Group

Jonathan Grissom represents a variety of public charities, private foundations, and other nonprofit organizations, including social welfare organizations, scientific research organizations, professional societies, educational institutions, trade groups, churches, business leagues, hospitals, social clubs, and organizations dedicated to environmental protection, the welfare of animals, human rights, arts and culture, and other philanthropic causes. Mr. Grissom is also the co-author of Advising California Nonprofit Corporations (2nd Edition), Continuing Education of the Bar. The two-volume treatise addresses business and tax matters affecting nonprofit corporations.

Nancy G. Henderson

Partner, Chair of Estate Planning Group

Nancy G. Henderson is a Founding Partner, co-Managing Partner and the Chair of the Estate Planning Practice Group of Henderson, Caverly, Pum & Trytten LLP. Ms. Henderson is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), where she has served on the Program Committee. She is also a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law (California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization), and presently serves of the California State Bar Estate Planning Law Advisory Commission, which is responsible for writing and grading the legal specialist exam in Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law. Ms. Henderson is listed in Southern California Super Lawyers – San Diego (2008-2015) and was named by Worth Magazine as one of the nation’s Top 100 Attorneys (2008-2009). From 1996 through 1999, Ms. Henderson served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Taxation Section of the California State Bar.

Francisco Garcia, Jr.

Associate

Francisco Garcia, Jr. is an associate in the Nonprofit Organizations and Estates and Trusts Practice Groups at Henderson, Caverly, Pum & Trytten LLP, where he assists clients in estate planning, estate and trust administration, charitable planning, nonprofit organization operations and related issues, and a variety of tax related matters. Mr. Garcia received his law degree in 2010 from the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Garcia received his bachelor’s degree in Economics, with a minor in Political Science, from Stanford University. Mr. Garcia is a member of the California State Bar Association, Trust and Estates Section; and the San Diego County Bar Association, Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Section.

Alexander L. Bruin

Associate

Alexander L. Bruin is an associate in the Nonprofit Organizations and Estates and Trusts Groups at Henderson, Caverly, Pum & Trytten LLP, where he assists clients in all aspects of estate planning, estate and trust administration, charitable planning and nonprofit organization operations and related issues. Alex obtained both his J.D. and Tax LL.M in 2016 from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles, where he graduated with honors and first overall in Loyola’s Tax LL.M class. For his efforts, he was awarded the Lynn Witte Scholarship, presented by the LA County Bar Association – Taxation Section in 2017. Alex received his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from the University of New Mexico in 2011.

Theresa J. Delia

Senior Paralegal

Theresa Delia is a senior paralegal with Henderson, Caverly, Pum & Trytten LLP. Ms. Delia works with members of the Nonprofit Organizations Practice Group, the Corporate Tax Group, and the Estates & Trust Group in the formation of charitable organizations and for-profit entities, preparing applications for tax exempt status, updating and maintaining of corporate records, preparing and reviewing legal documents and assisting on corporate matters and transactions.

Ms. Delia received a bachelor’s degree in 1994 from Lake Superior State University in Legal Assistant Studies. Ms. Delia received a paralegal certificate from California State University San Marcos in 1998.
